Identity Therapy

FAQ

1Languages

We conduct sessions primarily in English but our therapist is also fluent in Hindi and Bengali.

2 How frequent should counselling sessions be?

It is recommended to begin your counselling journey with weekly sessions before moving into fortnightly/monthly sessions once it is discussed and decided upon with your therapist. However, we understand that therapy is an investment and clients may also decide to begin with fortnightly sessions based on their need, the time they can give to therapy, and financial position.
The frequency of sessions is discussed in your first therapy session.

3 What can we expect from the first session?

Our first session will focus on 1. Context building - exploring the different challenges and topics you would like to bring into the therapy space and work on together + understanding you and your needs 2. Expectation setting - understanding what you hope to achieve out of the therapy process so that we have a direction to work towards 3. Client-therapist fit - I will brief you on my therapy style and how I generally operate and we will then explore what you are looking for from a therapist - this is in order to understand whether I am the right therapist for you!

4 Session mode

Counselling sessions and support spaces are currently online - generally using Google Meet.

5 Sliding scale

We offer a sliding scale for clients who need a reduction in fee. Our sliding scale begins from INR 750 per session.

6 Confidentiality agreement

Once a session is booked a confidentiality agreement will be sent to you to be signed before your first session.

7Terminating

Ending sessions is a process and will not be abrupt. Once both therapist and client agree to start ending their counselling journey together, sessions will slow down gradually before eventually coming to a close. Even after regular sessions end, clients can book follow-up sessions as and when needed.
